Hello Room 32
I was happy to get an email full of questions from Room 32. I spent a lot of time writing an email response, and then I hit the wrong key on my computer and the whole thing disappeared. It was about an hour's worth of work. I was so upset.
I decided that the maybe other people had some of the same questions as Room 32 so I decided to blog their questions and answers. I need to go to sleep soon so I will not have time to answer all of the questions. I'll do more tomorrow.
Here goes:
From Baude: we miss you in Japan. Did you go on the bullet train? Are their bikes made out of the same things as us? What are their clothes made out of? What kind of fish do they have there? What are their shoes made out of? What kind of jobs do they have their? Do the kids have to take their shoes off? How big are people's houses?
Hello Baude, I miss everyone at Fernwood, too. I wish you all could have come with me to Japan. I am making new friends here and can't wait to come back and share all of the things I am learning. I learned a lot about the bullet train, but I have not had a chance to go for a ride. I would really love to. It has a very scientific design that makes it very smooth and quiet for the passengers. It has special technology for going around corners that keeps it from falling off the track even when it is going very fast. Of course the trains also look very cool.
People in Japan mostly wear the same kind of clothes that we do. The teenagers sometimes like to dress crazy with lots of colors of hair and mismatched clothing.

I have seen many bicycles of all kinds in Japan. The weirdest one I saw was made out of bamboo.
At the beach I also saw people riding bikes with a surfboard on a rack on
the side. I have never seen anything like that in Milwaukee.

People dress very nicely when they go to work. They wear
a lot of black and white, and not too many colors. The children wear uniforms when they go to school. I have also seen many people in traditional clothing, especially women in Kimonos. These are very pretty, but I think they are hard to walk around in. They wear platform sandals and socks with a special place for their big toe. Also the belts are called obis. They look like they are wearing a package on their back.

There were fish patties (like fish hamburgers), fried fish, and salmon. For lunch we had more fried fish and some raw shrimp and fish called sushi. For dinner I had octopus. I am glad that I like fish. Also, it is a good thing that it is good for you.
People do take their shoes off when they go into a house. You also have to look carefully before you go into a restaurant to see if other people are wearing their shoes before you go in. Children in school wear slippers. It keeps the floors nice and clean. I am visiting I high school tomorrow so I will wear slippers, too.

I am sorry that I did not answer all of your questions. I have to get up early tomorrow and it is 11:00 at night. I am so tired.
Until Tomorrow, Sayonara.
